Product pdfDocs Version Any version Article Name "A script required for this install to complete could not be run" error occurs at the beginning of the pdfDocs install. Summary In the early stages of the installer you receive the following error:   ‘Error 1720. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run’   Upon checking the ‘Event Viewer – Application log’ you find that the error relates to a Microsoft VBScript runtime error: ActiveX component can’t create object. This relates to Custom action SOURCEDIRDriveType script error. Workaround See Fix   Fix Please work through the following options in order to attempt a fix to this issue:   1. Can you check that you have a c:\windows\system32\sccrun.dll (If not, then use option 3 - install VB scripting) 2. Known issue in XP only (see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q311269). To resolve this issue, register the WScript object by running the ‘wscript –regserver’ command from a command prompt or from the Run command on the Start menu. (see article for more details) 3.
