Sydney, Australia - January 1, 2008 - DocsCorp, a global leader in PDF integration technology, today announced the latest release of its proven pdfDocs Desktop software. With this release comes a new pdfDocs Binder solution, advanced document numbering functionality, tighter integration into document management systems as well as a new look interface.

DocsCorp develops innovative business applications that integrate into core business applications, processes and systems to deliver higher levels of efficiency, productivity and security for corporations, financial institutions, governments and legal firms. More than 3,000 organisations worldwide rely on DocsCorp every day to manage the flow of documents within the business and the exchange of business-critical documents beyond the company firewall in the Portable Document Format (PDF), a format that is safe, secure and universal.

Single click, multiple documents

Commenting on the 2.1 release, David Woolstencroft, DocsCorp Vice President Sales and Marketing says “businesses want innovative, new technologies to reduce costs, achieve greater efficiencies and ultimately mitigate risks to their companies. pdfDocs Desktop 2.1 streamlines processes to deliver real workplace efficiency at a price business can afford.”
“The new Binder and Numbering set functionality in the 2.1 release provides users with an efficient and flexible method of “binding” different document types together into a collection of PDF and non-PDF documents, complete with Table of Contents, cross-document bookmarks and links to every document in the collection irrespective of type.

“The ‘Binder Project’ can then be easily distributed to opposing counsel as part of the eDiscovery process for example; sent to external third parties or burned to CD for archiving purposes. This functionality makes light work of what was previously a very time-consuming process in deed,” adds Woolstencroft.

The user can import existing PDFs into the Binder Project area along with non-PDF documents. These documents can be converted to PDF during the “binding” process or left in their native format. Users can elect to generate a single PDF document or multiple documents.

Editing the Binder Project couldn’t be easier. Documents can be added, deleted or repositioned in the Binder Project area and the Binder recreated with a single click of the Make Binder button!

Document numbering sets including Bates numbering

Applying a header or footer to the document or across the document collection is simply a matter of clicking on the Numbering Sets button. Users can create, edit and save multiple Numbering sets for use on specific projects, cases, matters etc. A Numbering set can consist of page numbering, bates numbering, document management information (Doc ID, author and version number) and time and date stamping that can be inserted into the header and/or footer of a PDF document or across a collection of documents.

Integration with Document Management Systems

“One of our most successful strategies has been around integration. Our mission has always been to develop solutions that integrate into and add value to core business applications without requiring a lot of training and change management. Integration should not only be seamless, it should also be as painless as possible.” Woolstencroft said.

“The pdfDocs integrated workflow solution makes complex tasks simple,” continues Woolstencroft, “with Desktop 2.1 document management users, for example, can now print a Word document to PDF and profile it directly into their document management system as a new document or a new version of a document without interacting with the pdfDocs interface. Within the DMS environment, it’s a right-click to create and profile a PDF document. It’s that simple,”
